Australia can electrify freight — the technology is ready and already working in real-world operations. What’s missing is a clear, coordinated policy framework to scale it.
This report sets out the key levers to drive that shift: targeted incentives to unlock investment, faster rollout of charging infrastructure, and national coordination to remove regulatory barriers. Together, these actions can cut costs for operators, reduce reliance on imported diesel, and position Australia to lead in clean, resilient freight.
