This tool helps electric vehicle (EV) owners find the best electricity plans for charging their cars at home in each state. It’s especially useful for those with a breakdown of their EV charging costs displayed on their household electricity bill.
To be included in this list, an electricity plan must:
Offer overnight charging for less than 10c/kWh, which typically costs around $1.50 – $2 per 100km, depending on your car's efficiency.
Keep peak time prices within 30% of the standard flat rate offered by major retailers in the area.
For the best cost and environmental benefits, we recommend charging your EV at home during the day.
